About Propitrite

Prop-It-Rite Consulting Services is headed by Jose Abella, a pioneer for the boating industry in south Florida. He began his career in North Miami in the early 1970’s. This would include a number of areas in the marine industry. The various fields included marine diesel and gasoline engine mechanics, as well as outboard engines and boat rigging.

As part of many race boat projects throughout the years, the trial and error of many things became valuable knowledge. For a number of years he worked in consulting and sales of propeller and propulsion systems components, at the biggest propeller shop in the country located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Daily, boat builders and all other customers would present their problems and concerns. Many cases were engine issues and not even propeller releted.

During this time he realized that a more complex and thorough analysis on an individual basis rather than generalizing on a one fits all solutions was needed. The need to treat each problem independently is the reason why we provide the service:

  • We first analyze all aspects and characteristics of the boat vs. owners intended application(s).
  • We calculate available horse power HP and gear ratio, as well as engine placement to hull.
  • Next step is to calculate weight distribution to establish an accurate center of gravity.
  • We analyze the information given to provide a true solution to the problem.

This is done with the use of computer programs, naval architectural rules, and over 30 years experience in the industry. In essence, the mechanical knowledge, experience with all existing hulls and propeller technology as a combined effort provide optimal results.

We have established proven rules that provide positive outcome. We invite you to fill out the qualification form to see if you are eligible for the service. Upon eligibility your form will be analyzed and returned via e-mail within 72 hours of receiving the information provided. We encourage you to use our method to get the most of your boating needs!
